Our History

Eddie Hill first opened the Kawasaki motorcycle franchise in early 1966 in his race car shop behind his home in Wichita Falls, Texas. He quickly realized that he needed more exposure so he added the Honda franchise and moved to 401 North Scott Street in December 1966, where it remains today. Throughout the years, Eddie Hill’s Fun Cycles has carried franchises for Bultaco, BSA, Penton, Hodaka, and Norton.

As you can see by the photos, Eddie Hill’s Fun Cycles has experienced phenomenal growth since 1966. We are proud of our long-standing tradition of serving North Texas and Southern Oklahoma’s powersports needs. We are grateful for our second and third generation customers for their loyalty in making our dealership one of the oldest existing dealerships in the U.S.

In 1966-1974, to have fun and to promote his growing motorcycle business, Eddie Hill began to race motorcycles. He competed in short track, road racing, hare scrambles, cross country, drag racing, half-mile and mile dirt track, and indoor short track racing. He finished in the money at the AMA Daytona road race, won the Texas State Championship in Stock Production Road Racing, and won over a hundred trophies.

These days, management of the store has been taken over by the Hill's business partner and longtime Eddie Hill's Fun Cycles employee, Trey Sralla. Trey serves as GM of Eddie Hill's Fun Cycles and CEO of Eddie Hill's Fun Cycles, Inc. Eddie still participates in the business as the President of the Board for Eddie Hill's Fun Cycles, Inc. and Ercie serves as the CFO of the corporation. Eddie and Ercie also spend time doing public relations projects, and lots and lots of product testing. “Somebody’s gotta do it.” The Hills work together as a team, just as they did in their racing career.

Customers from as far as 800 miles away regularly purchase their vehicles from Fun Cycles and the store recently sold a unit to a lady in Maine through their eddiehillsfuncycles.com Web site.

Eddie loves having so many “toys” to play with, and he and Ercie enjoy their 1800 cc Honda Gold Wing, touring bike, especially on their monthly store-sponsored dinner rides. The Hills can be found playing with their dirt bikes, Kawasaki Mule, and ATV regularly at their 400-acre horse and cattle ranch, where they spend many hours working with their Tennessee Walking Horses and riding horse, and enjoying dirt bike and ATV trails.” To ”Eddie loves having so many “toys” to play with, and the Hills can be found using their Kawasaki Mule regularly to observe and enjoy their 500-acre horse and cattle ranch, where they work with their Tennessee Walking Horses and Red Angus and Black Brangus cattle, and enjoying their ATV trails.

The Hills invite their customers and fans to stop in to see their huge displays of motorcycles, ATVs, and lawn care equipment. Their “First in the Fours” top fuel dragster (first car in history to cover the quarter mile in under 5 seconds) as well as Eddie's record-breaking 229mph blown hydro boat are now on display in the upper showroom. They are always willing to welcome their customers and race fans and to honor autograph requests. There are always free color pictures (17 inch by 11 inch) of our 1999 final professional drag racing season, with history about our racing “firsts” and records, and statistics about our top fuel car for the 1999 season. Eddie and Ercie will gladly autograph a picture for you if you are at our store when we are- just ask.

Diecast and other collectibles are available for walk-in, telephone, and internet customers. The Hill's are always happy to personalize them.
